In 2004 Comprehensive established Home Telemonitoring as a standard of care for all patients.

Every patient admitted to Comprehensive home health care can experience a support system that is there for them every day throughout their recovery.  All Comprehensive patients are evaluated for the Home Telemonitoring program.  The patients, their families and physicians that use this program believe it increases the patient’s sense of security and well being while reducing unexpected hospitalizations and emergent care.  Combined with Comprehensives’ excellent in-home health care programs, our monitored patients have the added benefit of a nurse who is checking their progress and advising them daily throughout their recovery.

Our nurses call the patient or family member every time there is a monitoring alert and consult with patient’s physicians when needed. 

The Honeywell/HomMed Telemonitor sends vital statistics using a satellite or in-house telephone line to our central station nurse.  The information system alerts the central station nurse of any vital signs that have exceeded the guidelines established by the patient’s physician.  The system monitors pulse rate, oxidation, blood pressure, glucose levels and many other disease specific indicators.
